Storeurl Rewrite Program Squid3
Is there any plans to port storeurl directives from 2.7 to 3.x? I don't see it in 3.1 beta. One of my plugins (intelligentmirror [1]) depends on it. I am not able to.
InComum 0.3.9.1 Squid (or Lusca) helper to be used with storeurlrewriteprogram feature. His goal is to create equivalency rules for distinct but equivalent URLs. This allows you to cache resources from domains witch do load balance. Eg: youtube, avast, etc. Some sites (like youtube) add HTTP headers to avoid cache (or, at least, to reduce it). Because of that, this program works better when Squid is compiled with -enable-http-violations directive.
You may check typing '% squid -v' on your shell prompt. In the case your installed pack has not this directive (and you are using debian), you may follow the tutorial wich comes with this documentation. There are long term plans to include it along with the rest of the useful stuff in Squid-2.7. It's most likely to occur in 3.2 and later, but we don't presently have anyone with time and interest to port it right now. If you are able to supply the developer time or cash resources to get it done please do so. The roadmap for work on Squid-3 can be found at Amos - Please be using Current Stable Squid 2.7.STABLE5 or 3.0.STABLE10 Current Beta Squid 3.1.0.3 or 3.0.STABLE11-RC1. And as I am a developer myself, can't really supply cash:( I'll sit back and wait. In the meantime will try to revamp my c/c concepts so that I can jump in squid-devel in future.
