PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Options for Advancing your Clinical Career is a small rural hospital that serves southeast Washington and northeast Oregon. Our PGY1 residency is a one-year clinical and administrative program designed to meet the three main requirements outlined by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, including acute patient care, practice foundation skills and practice management. Currently, we have four PGY1 positions available. As a pharmacy resident, you will benefit from our unique training program that takes advantage of the wide variety of rotations and learning experiences within both acute and ambulatory care settings, and an affiliation with Washington State University College of Pharmacy offering you academic opportunities, a teaching certificate or both. Everything you learn about pharmacy practice will be based on our patient-centered Mission of providing compassionate care.
Mary Medical Center Pharmacy Residency Program Objectives The pharmacy department is dedicated to providing the pharmacy resident with the skills, opportunities and knowledge to become a competent pharmacy practitioner. Pharmacy residents will receive guidance and mentoring to foster a professional attitude toward the profession of pharmacy. This residency program is designed to provide a broad overview of institutional pharmacy practice and is tailored to meet the needs of each resident. As a new graduate nurse, you will have the opportunity to join other graduate nurses in a program that will help you to learn and grow as a professional. The program builds on your undergraduate education and clinical competencies.
The nurse residency program has learning sessions that will last 12 months with a wide variety of topics that will be presented in an interactive and reflective manner. You will also have a clinical coach partnered with you during this time. The clinical coach is an experienced nurse that will act as a teacher, guide, and a role model after your initial orientation time is complete.
