I have been a fan of Dr. Patch's for several years. My first 'above and beyond' encounter with this excellent person was in 1983 with my horse Star. She collicked late at night.
Dr Patch came to the barn and stayed there until the wee hours of the morning to make sure she was out of the woods. As I was a new rookie horse owner, he stayed to oversee the care of my mare.
My second emergency encounter with Dr. P was when I found my mixed breed beloved dog Rocky outside my back door, laying helpless by his water bowl, foaming at the mouth. This wasn't during office hours.it was very late at night. He said to meet him at the hospital immediately. He promptly diagnosed him of poisoning (we did NOT have a fence up at the time) and treated him accordingly.
He said it would be a wait and see for the next 24 hours. Had it not been for his excellent knowledge to be able to diagnose it precisely and promptly, Rocky would not have survived and given us 7 more years of love. Thanks again to you Dr.P! I have been a fan of Dr.

Patch had a special way with cats. He can handle the most angry of cats and come out not injured. My most antisocial cat, Julia, never fights him. Patch is a quiet man, perhaps the unsatisfied lady did not ask enough questions.
Post op instructions are always printed out just like in the hospital and they come with your reciept. I volunteer at a cat rescue agency and have had some of the 'rescue specialists' advise against Dr. Patch but never given any clear cut reasons. Patch taught me how to take my cat's bgl, give her insulin shots, and was very compassionate when we realized we were not winning the fight against her liver tumor. Colleen, the sick kitty he fought so hard to save, is pictured above. I have seen him first hand help people who love their animals but don't have alot of cash.

He took the time to answer all my questions and I always felt confident that Bentley was receiving the best care possible. When my other dog (Alfie) developed a tumor on his face, I was concerned about the cost of the required surgery.
When I picked him up, I couldn't believe how reasoable it was. It's so nice to deal with a veterinarian who cares and obviously tries to make caring for your animals affordable.
