Knockoff) I would more than appreciate any input. Other than it comes from a German manufacturer of quality instruments I'd love to know more about the challenges and pleasures for a beginning adult player. The upper register was fine, as was the quality of manufacture. I'd probably have one if it weren't for these Amazing 2 As for challenges, after a while you might find that it doesn't suit you personally for n number of reasons, and that is something that can happen with any brand and model, and it's also hard to predict. 3137/37S is a great trumpet for the money.
After some time and a few different trumpets played, you'll probably have an idea what it is that you want from a trumpet in respect to sound, response, resistance, etc. Hope this answers your question.

They had the good and the bad Bach characteristics: the centered, focused, dark sound with projection and they didn't give a lot of player feedback and had the same intonation and sound issues and most stock Bach 37s have. If that's what you like they are a great deal and the horns I played (I had my students buy them) were made well. They have held up well too.
I wouldn't trade my Schilke for one, but then again I wouldn't trade it for many horns and I'm not a Bach person. That being said, I did have a couple of my students who could not afford a Xeno or Strad buy them. I have the same B&S model with the Allora brand and I'm very pleased with it. F Schmidt Trumpet Mouthpieces
In a blind test with some pretty fair musicians and singers they could not distinguish a difference between an F Schmidt 37S I had and another pro horn. Here's one for sale in my area - not a bad price; it's about what I'd expect to pay for one in excellent shape so you can use this for a comparison to the horn you're considering. The horn for sale is by a guy I know here in Houston, I think - not sure.
Most of the F Schmidt horns were originally sold in Texas by a large music company here, Mays Music. I do believe, as mentioned above, that B & S sold this as a stencil horn to Mays Music. So, we see more of them here than in most other states. Should be a good horn, though. If it has the fixed finger ring on the third slide it's more of a pro model, the student model has an adjustable slide ring attachment.

I played a Kanstul Chicago 1000, a Bach 27, a Bach LB 25, a Yamaha RGS a Carol Brass and a Blessing. This Schmidt(B&S) horn really played and felt better than the rest. I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time on this horn. I have the same B&S model with the Allora brand and I'm very pleased with it. Kent Kent, My wife has an Allora Flugelhorn (silverplate model #AA103-S (silverplate) made by or for B & S that sounds real nice.
It is several years old and the plating, valves and slides are in great shape. All in all, it has been a good horn.
